We all have to take some time off our busy or demanding schedules once in a while to do something relaxing or sport for good living.
At the university are several facilities which cater for that. Some of them include:
- a Basketball court, netball and soccer pitches to cater for extracurricular activities.
The university organises both internal and external matches and tournaments time to time and also has a full sports calendar with activities that are spread periodically throughout the year.
There are some other periodical and regularrecreational and festive options that are provided now and then such term start, freshman, and different purposes balls, table games among others.
We come from different backgrounds which dictate that our ways of life and handling of situations differ.
When we come to university we meet different people from whom we learn many new non-academic things that are vital to living successfully in society.

At Up this is accomplished through many ways that promote good communication and living in harmony.
There are open discussions, open debates and much more organised periodically too. Umutara Polytechnic is one place where the educational experience is totally relaxed and worthwhile.
Although Up is a fairly new institution, it provides a great environment for education in the most conducive conditions. Here we live a little bit while achieving intellectually, mutually and otherwise.
