UP Student Guild Association - UPSGA
This office is in charge of students’ accommodation,restaurant, sports and culture.
It oversees the implementation of the planned activities and policies as per Umutara Polytechnic strategic plan.
The main purpose
To administer the directorate and advice the UP executive committee and management on strategic and policy issues development and planning regarding services to students. Sports, Culture and leisure.
At UP, not only do we promote academic achievements, but also cultural activities (music, dance and drama).
This office ensures that there is a conducive learning environment, hence contributing to the achievement of academic Excellency.
This office is under the vice Rector Administration and finance.
Students Guild
The Students community of Umutara Polytechnic is embodied in the students’ general association called Umutara Polytechnic Student’s Guild Association, headed by Guild President.
Members of the association are divided into students who are currently enrolled in the two campuses of Muvumba campus and students at the Kinihira Campus.
Membership:
The statute governing the student’s Guild association stipulates that, every student of Umutara Polytechnic is a member of the association by his/her free will.
The different categories of members of the association, duties, right and responsibilities are stipulated by the statute.
The Students Union
In order to address the concerns and harmonise the relationship between the University administration and the students, a students union is elected to work hand in hand with the guild and dean of students to ensure effective
communication and administration.
